Jake Isard has consistently pursued a career in music, embarking on this path at the age of 13 with a dream to study at WAAPA. Graduating with a Bachelor's in Music, he engaged in both cover and original works alongside numerous musicians across Australia. Driven by a passion for his craft, Jake aspired to share his knowledge, leading him to teaching roles at various schools and academies throughout Perth.

Following his undergraduate studies, Jake's interest in recording music propelled him towards a Bachelor of Creative Media, culminating in a double major in Sound and Screen Production. This experience fueled his desire to expand his expertise in sound for screen, particularly in immersive and virtual technologies, prompting him to pursue postgraduate studies. Recently completing a Master's in Screen Studies at the WA Screen Academy, Jake earned the esteemed title of Sandbox Student of the Year and secured the position of post-production sound tutor at the WA Screen Academy. Concurrently, he undertook an internship at Soundbyte Studios, marking the initiation of his promising career in sound.

Jake's academic journey includes studying at WAAPA from 2014 to 2017, specializing in Contemporary Music. In 2016, driven by the desire to share his knowledge, he commenced his teaching career at Mega Music, subsequently expanding to institutions like West Coast Music and Forté Music.

Intrigued by music technology and recording, Jake pursued a Bachelor's at Murdoch University in Sound and Screen Production. Delving into live sound, studio sound recording, radio, sound for games, and sound for screen, he discovered a particular passion for sound in the cinematic realm. This curiosity led him to a research master's program, where he crafted live music mixes in virtual reality and large immersive surround sound formats, such as 7.1 and Dolby Atmos.

Acknowledging his contributions, Jake was honoured with the Student of the Year award, earning a three-month internship at Sandbox. Currently, he works at Sandbox Studios, balancing his responsibilities with a nomination for the ASSG Greg Bell Student Encouragement Award.
